Highlighting some of my favorite and frequently photographed wedding venues around Denver and Colorado. Every venue has a preferred vendor list, so why not have my own preferred vendor list from the perspective of a wedding photographer?
Winter Park Mountain Lodge in Winter Park, Colorado is a fairly quick drive from Denver with gorgeous mountain and aspen views and convenient lodging options for guests.
Get ready in one of the on-site suites and having your guests, family and wedding party all conveniently staying in the same location.
As a photographer, having couples getting ready in the
same venue makes it very easy to capture both partners along with their squad, without missing any highlights of getting ready for their wedding ceremony. Eliminating the need to travel from your getting ready location to your ceremony and even reception not only removes a potential stressor, but also cuts out travel time from your wedding timeline.
How can you have a "first look" without everyone seeing you when all your guests are staying at the same lodge that you're getting ready in? Honestly, this part is simple. There are plenty of nearby spots tucked in the trees, allowing for the perfect, private first look between couples, or with a parent, sibling, or anyone you want to share a special moment with before your wedding ceremony.
Dogs? Yep, you can have dogs at this venue. I've actually stayed at Winter Park Mountain Lodge with my own dog in the past (while I was there for recreation, not to photograph a wedding)
The Ceremony site at Winter Park Mountain Lodge is tucked in the middle of aspen and evergreen trees. For being so close to the venue, it truly feels immersed in nature and Colorado's beauty. I have a few spots off-site where I typically take couples and wedding parties for portraits before or after their ceremony, but I am always up for going somewhere different.
