Highlighting some of my favorite and frequently photographed wedding venues around Denver and Colorado. Every venue has a preferred vendor list, so why not have my own preferred vendor list from the perspective of a wedding photographer?
A newer venue in the foothills of Morrison, Woodlands Colorado opened its doors in 2019. Since the first wedding I photographed there, I instantly fell in love with this venue! From the modern farmhouse chic style, to the beautiful views of evergreen trees surrounding the lawn, this venue is wonderful!
They have made a few changes since opening, most recently their new getting ready suite, and every one has been an excellent addition or improvement to an already exceptional venue.
A few highlights about this venue -
The space has a trendy, modern farmhouse style from the outside. The huge barn doors make the perfect grand entrance to your wedding ceremony as well as the perfect backdrop during your reception and for some of your photos. Sitting right in the foothills, it is a short drive from Denver but has all the beauty of the surrounding trees and views of sunset.
If you want to venture further, off-site for some of your photos, there are plenty of nearby options to get a different view, but the property the venue sits on offers enough that leaving site truly isn't necessary.
The getting ready spaces are beautifully decorated, making them a lovely spot for your wedding crew to enjoy and help you prepare for your ceremony and an enormous step up from a cramped, beige hotel room. Windows that let in excellent light which is beneficial for wedding makeup artists and is certainly something I will never complain about while taking photos.
The indoor reception space is a large open area, allowing everyone a view of your toasts and dancing all night long. Outside the venue, there are options on multiple sides of the building for lawn games, relaxing in comfortable rocking chairs and taking in the views of the evergreen trees surrounding the venue as the sun sets.
Dogs? Yes, they allow dogs! So far, every wedding I have photographed at Woodlands Colorado has included dogs and it is perfect!
